Our Board of Directors

The Soledad-Mission Recreation District is an independent Special District. Overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. This Board is currently a 5 member board appointed to 4 year terms of service. They are entrusted to ensure the District is utilizing the apportionment (portion of taxes paid to County of Monterey) created by a vote of the people is being used to serve the people of our District. Other responsibilities of the board ensuring transparency for the public, ensuring fiscal responsibility, providing organizational oversight and direction, and the continued provision of safe, positive and wholesome programming. The Board meets for Regular District Board meetings on the 4th Tuesday of the Month at the Windmill in Soledad.

The Board welcomes  and encourages public participation via in person attendance or written communication. All members of the public are encouraged to engage the public process, if you have a question about how to participate please feel free to contact our Executive Director with any questions.

Current Board Vacancies

There are currently 2 vacant seats for the Board of Soledad Mission Recreation District. 4 year terms of service to the Board are currently appointed in 2 distinct avenues: Through appointment by the County Board of Supervisors or by appointment by the Soledad Mayor. A mid-term appointment are currently filled with 60 days of the vacancy by appointment by a consensus of the Board of Directors.
